Dr. Galit (Gali) Fichman
Dr. Gali Fichman earned her B.Sc. in Biotechnology Engineering from Ben-Gurion University, followed by an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Tel Aviv University under the mentorship of Prof. Ehud Gazit. Her Ph.D. research focused on designing and characterizing self-assembled bio-inspired nanostructures incorporating the catechol-containing amino acid, DOPA.
She completed her postdoctoral training in Dr. Joel Schneider’s research group at the Chemical Biology Laboratory, National Cancer Institute (NIH), where she conducted both applied and fundamental research on self-assembling peptide-based gel materials.
Gali is currently a faculty member at the Institute of Biochemistry, Food Science, and Nutrition at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Rehovot campus. She is affiliated with the Biotechnology Program and the Nano Center.
